Its wool dyed only, so that uses either acid dyes or reactive dyes. i need to reach out to the mill to find out which they are using in this case. No Disperse dyes as the polyester is not dyed (stays white, giving heather effect).
Regarding toxicity, these fabrics are Oeko-Tex certified which means they are certified to meet a very large RSL (restricted substance list) to protect both environment as well as consumer. Acid and reactive dyes are used in wool as they provide best covalent bonding of dye stuffs to the wool fiber. This in combination of the RSL mentioned above (means good chemistries are used) and limitation of chemistry shedding gives a clean fabric for the user.
